As a result, the popular turn-based strategy game is now available on all key platforms: Windows, macOS, Linux, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android. It is curious that the strategy was released on the iPad back in December 2017, so there was a very noticeable delay with the launch on Android. Civilization VI is on sale on Google Play for $ 20. As with the iOS version, a free trial with 60 moves is offered. The Rise and Fall and Gathering Storm extensions are available for in-app purchase. There are no official requirements for the characteristics of the smartphone and for the OS version. It is known that the top-end phone on Android 7.0 did not fit the game. But at the same time it was launched on a budget model with Android 9.0. The turn-based strategy Civilization VI is out on Android
Notably, Cilization VI has a 60-turn free period. Within the series, this is a decent time span of several thousand years, which is enough to decide on a purchase. The game was ported to both platforms by Aspyr, who was also responsible for the Nintendo Switch version. Judging by the reviews in the App Store, it works stably on Apple devices, but the version for Android crashes for many, does not start and is actively buggy. Even on a good phone, it takes almost three minutes to get to the main menu. After loading, all objects on the map blink disgustingly, and the FPS drops to 10-15 frames per second. Perhaps this is an internal error, and an early build got into the release. This is hinted at by the date of the last update (June 10, 2020) and the strange signature in the description: “Build number by Jenkins: 0111_196478”.
