Apple today announced that it will host the annual global developer conference WWDC on June 22nd, and all developers can participate in the online virtual way for free through the Apple Developer App and Apple developer website.

Due to the impact of the New Coronary Pneumonia (2019 Coronavirus Disease, COVID-19) epidemic, this will be Apple’s first online meeting of WWDC in 31 years.

Apple pointed out that the 31st WWDC20 brings opportunities for millions of creative and innovative developers to be the first to understand the future development of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS and watchOS, and learn from Apple engineers to work together to create a variety of App experiences.

Phil Schiller, Apple ’s senior vice president of global marketing, said that WWDC20 will be Apple ’s largest conference to date, bringing together a community of more than 23 million developers worldwide in an unprecedented way within a week of June Let ’s learn about the future outlook of the Apple platform.

In addition, Apple also announced the Swift Student Challenge, which allows student developers to show their love for coding by creating their own Swift playground. Swift Playgrounds is an innovative app for iPad and Mac that can learn Swift programming language.

Global student developers can submit to participate in the Swift Student Challenge from now until 2:59 p.m. Taipei time. The entries must be constructed on the Swift playground and experience interactive scenes within 3 minutes.

Craig Federighi, senior vice president of Apple’s software engineering, said that students are an integral part of Apple’s developer community. Last year’s WWDC was attended by more than 350 student developers from 37 different countries and regions. Although this year’s conference will be held in a virtual way, Apple still wants to recognize and celebrate the creative contributions of young developers around the world.
